2018 Northwest Food Show

The OTA has rented a booth at the upcoming Northwest Food Show to be held in Portland on April 22-23. This is a food and beverage industry event (not open to general public) that attracts 2,000-3,000 industry attendees each year. This is a “Pay-to-Play” event for OTA members only, who have an opportunity to have one of their Tempranillo wines poured by trained staff. Due to space considerations, we are limiting the number of wines we pour to 12.

While the OTA is underwriting a majority of the cost, we do need to charge participating wineries. The cost to have your wine included is $150 per wine, plus a case of the wine to pour (any unused bottles will be returned to the winery). Each winery may submit only one wine for consideration, and in the event that more than 12 wines are submitted, we will employ a lottery system to determine which wines will be poured. If you are interested in having your wine included, please download and complete the participation form and send it with a check for $150 to the address on the form. We’ll make arrangements for the wine once the final selection has been made. Time is of the essence, so please act soon!

Recap of 2018 Oregon Tempranillo Celebration

The 2018 OTC was held in Portland for the first time on January 19-21 and was an unqualified success. We had 27 wineries participate in the two-day event. The seminars were very well received and sparked some great exchanges, particularly the Clonal Aspects of Tempranillo and the Marketing Tempranillo sessions. Meanwhile, the Grand Tasting had close to 300 attendees, including nearly 80 trade and media representatives.
